Responsible Gaming Policy
The controls Softico gives players to stay in control — limits, reality checks, cooling-off and self-exclusion — and where to find help.
1. Our commitment
Gambling is entertainment that costs money. For most people that is all it is; for a minority it becomes harmful. Our position is that the tools which prevent harm must be free, immediate, obvious, and impossible for us to quietly weaken. Every control below is built into the platform, not bolted on at the request of a regulator.
2. Age and identity
You must be at least 18, or 21 where local law says so. We ask you to confirm your age before you can use the site and we verify identity before the first withdrawal. An account we find to belong to a minor is closed, its wagers are void, and deposits are returned to source.
3. The tools, and what each one does
- Deposit limit
- A daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can pay in. Checked when a deposit address is issued and again when the deposit is credited.
- Loss limit
- A cap on net losses over a period, computed from settled bets and wins. A bet that would breach it is refused.
- Wager limit
- A cap on total amount staked over a period, regardless of whether you win it back.
- Session limit
- Automatic sign-out after a chosen number of minutes of activity.
- Reality check
- A message every 15, 30 or 60 minutes showing how long you have been playing and your net result for the session. It cannot be set longer than 60 minutes.
- Cooling-off
- A lock of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. You choose the length; it cannot be shortened once started.
- Self-exclusion
- Permanent closure. No reactivation path exists — not for you, not for support, not for an administrator.
All of them live under Account → Responsible Gaming, and all of them are free.
4. How a limit change takes effect
- Lowering a limit binds immediately.
- Raising a limit takes effect twenty-four hours later. Until then, the old, tighter limit is the one enforced — a raise never loosens anything on the spot.
- Any later decision on the same limit cancels a pending raise. If you lower it while a raise is scheduled, the raise disappears.
- An administrator may tighten a limit at will and may never loosen one silently: an administrative loosening waits out the same delay, and skipping the delay requires the highest privilege level and is recorded by name.
5. Reality check
The reality check interrupts play at the interval you choose and shows elapsed session time and net profit or loss. You can keep playing, go straight to your limits, or sign out from the message. Session time is measured on the server from your sign-in, not by a timer your browser can be talked out of.
6. Cooling-off and self-exclusion, in detail
- While a cooling-off or exclusion is active you cannot sign in, deposit or place a bet. Sign-in returns a clear message, not a generic error.
- Deposit addresses issued to you are deactivated for the duration.
- Withdrawals already requested continue to be processed — being excluded never means losing access to your own money.
- A cooling-off ends by itself at the chosen time. Nothing you do shortens it.
- Permanent self-exclusion has no reversal mechanism anywhere in the software. If you write to ask us to lift it, the honest answer will be that we cannot, and we will point you to the support resources below.
- We honour an exclusion across any account we can link to you. Opening a new account to get around one is a breach of the Terms.
7. Signs worth taking seriously
- Playing longer, or for more, than you meant to.
- Chasing losses — increasing stakes to win back what you have lost.
- Borrowing money, selling things or using money set aside for something else in order to play.
- Hiding how much you play from people close to you.
- Feeling irritable or restless when you try to cut down.
- Playing to escape stress, low mood or boredom rather than for entertainment.
If more than one of these is familiar, set a limit today, or take a cooling-off period, and talk to one of the organisations below. They are free, confidential and independent of us.
8. Where to get help
- BeGambleAware
- begambleaware.org — free, confidential advice and treatment referral.
- GamCare
- gamcare.org.uk — helpline, live chat and a national network of counsellors.
- Gambling Therapy
- gamblingtherapy.org — multilingual online support, worldwide.
- Gamblers Anonymous
- gamblersanonymous.org — peer-support meetings, in person and online.
- Gam-Anon
- gam-anon.org — support for family and friends of someone who gambles.
9. Protecting people under 18
- Keep your credentials and your devices to yourself; most underage play happens on an adult’s signed-in account.
- Blocking software — Gamban, GAMSTOP where you are eligible, Net Nanny, K9 Web Protection — restricts gambling sites at the device level and works even when willpower does not.
- Never let anyone under 18 watch or take part in a session.
10. What we do on our side
- Everyone in support is trained to recognise the indicators above and to raise a case rather than sell a promotion.
- We monitor for behavioural patterns associated with harm — rapidly growing stakes, lengthening sessions, play shifting into the small hours, repeated failed deposits — and reach out rather than upsell.
- We never send promotional material to a player who is self-excluded, in a cooling-off period, or who has asked us to stop.
- Every responsible-gaming event — a limit set, changed, breached, an exclusion started — is written to an audit trail that cannot be edited after the fact.
11. Contact
For anything on this page, write to responsiblegaming@softico.app. If you want a limit set and would rather not do it yourself, ask us and we will set it for you — we can always tighten, and we will never loosen without the delay.
